Pagan Clergy Addressing How to Welcome Sex-Offenders and Ex-Felons into Our Communities: A Forum

It’s a sabbat, a ritual. You have a new person who expresses interest in your group or tradition.
During a conversation after (or before) ritual, you find out that the person has recently arrived after a time of incarceration in a prison or confinement as a sex offender. This person is an ex-offender, an ex-felon or sex-offender with a desire to worship the Gods in an open and free environment.

What do we do?

For those who think that this is not an issue in Minnesota, we currently are in the process of potentially releasing many Pagan sex offenders who have completed their rehabilitation back into the community. Where can they go?
Where can they worship? Are we going to welcome them or simply say up front - that they will have to form their own communities?

This is a sensitive, but needed and timely discussion. This also affects our communities nationwide.

The topic is presented at the request of the Minnesota Sex Offenders Program, which is in the process of working with a procedure to reintegrate current clients into various communities upon the completion of a very extensive rehabilitation process. We will have a member of the MSOP program available to listen to the suggestions from attendees.
